Support for Emergencies
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is participating
in the national trend to eliminate problems that affect
optimal patient care. As a result, we have created a
Rapid Response Team line for patients, families,
staff, or visitors to call for assistance.
You can call the Rapid Response team:
- If there is a noticeable change in the patient’s condition that needs immediate attention and the healthcare team is not recognizing or addressing the concern.
- If after speaking with a member of the healthcare team (i.e. nurses, physicians), you continue to have serious concerns on how care is being given, managed, or planned.
Warning signs may include:
- Change in the heart or respiratory (breathing) rate
- Change in blood pressure
- Very low urine output
- Change in level of consciousness
- Any time you are worried about the patient
Call 5555 from your bedside phone. This is a special
line just for the Rapid Response Team. The hospital
operator will ask for caller identification, room
number, patient name, and patient concern. Then the
Rapid Response Team will be activated.
A team of medical professionals will arrive in your
room to assess the situation.
What is the Rapid
Response Team?
The Rapid Response
Team is a group of
specially trained
individuals who bring
critical care expertise to
the patient. The purpose
of the team is to quickly
assess the condition of
the patient and provide
help before there is a
medical emergency.
To access the Rapid Response Team, DIAL 5555..
